It’s almost been a year?

The last time I posted to this blog was almost a year ago.  May 22 of last year, a blurb about gas prices. Alot of things happened in that span. Gas came back down around the holidays, after the United States elected for the first time in it’s history, a black skin president. Thirty years ago that would have been a shock, in this day and age, it’s about time. Skin doesn’t make the person. Barack Obama is a righteous dude! Better yet, he’s not George W. Bush.

A year, hmm. Not much changed from now to then, little different path but we’re back to where we were 12 months ago.

Wow, the genius of our government knows no bounds. I’m truly amazed that it took them this long to figure it out. The cost of transportation effects everything. If it costs more to get things where they are going, it only makes sense that the price will rise to pay for the cost. Money is power.

Declined by Social Security

It’s been seven months since I had my stroke. The good news is, I finally feel able to move forward and put the worst of it behind me. The bad news is, the situation has caused a new series of problems, mainly financial, and the slow process in which the system works, has been highly at fault for this.

I can honestly say, the last thing I ever wanted was to be dependant on the government for my well being. I can’t help but feel that had they reacted sooner, most of the issues would not exist. The declining of benefits is not a surprise. Everyone I have spoken to in the time of recovery has had to deal with the same thing.

As we prepare for election and people are asking for our votes, it’s pretty hypocritical for them to say they are going to change things. The physical and mental anguish of a stroke is something that I have more or less learned to deal with. Unfortunately, the problems it created have yet to be addressed.

There are more important things to deal with, like steroids in baseball and cheating in football. This government does not deserve our tax dollars. They really don’t know how to use them.

A short lived dream…

az gazette 001 Timing is everything when it comes to launching a business. The Arizona Sports Gazette was the right idea at the wrong time. Our first issue was launched just 10 days prior to 9/11. A combination of lack of proper funding and sudden lack of interest due to the event that changed the world, caused what was a great idea, to last only 60 days.

It’s ironic now to look back at the inaugural issue and see the headline. We all know the fate of Pat Tillman. Who would have guessed what would happen in over the next six and a half years?

What do you remember about 2001, aside from the WTC attacks? I’d love to see some comments of where you were or what else you remember from that year.

Here are some of memories from 2001. Please comment on yours.
