Timing is everything when it comes to launching a business. The Arizona Sports Gazette was the right idea at the wrong time. Our first issue was launched just 10 days prior to 9/11. A combination of lack of proper funding and sudden lack of interest due to the event that changed the world, caused what was a great idea, to last only 60 days.
It’s ironic now to look back at the inaugural issue and see the headline. We all know the fate of Pat Tillman. Who would have guessed what would happen in over the next six and a half years?
